At Ylja restaurant the kitchen is led by Gísli Matt, one of Iceland's leading chefs, best known for Slippurinn in the Westman Islands. At Ylja he creates seasonal dishes where modern techniques meet Icelandic culinary traditions. With local ingredients, fish and farm produce from the region and vegetables from the greenhouses, he connects guests with the place, the season and the culture.

We work closely with the village of Laugarás. Ylja restaurant is proud to source ingredients from our neighbours' greenhouses and farms, giving guests an authentic, local experience rooted in nature and the surrounding area.
